How clean do you need to leave your cabin when you check out?
1) Carry out the kitchen trash. There are receptacles outside near most cabins, or you can drop it off at the main dumpster on your way out. You can leave the bathroom trash unless it contains food or diapers.
2) Empty the refrigerator and wipe out any spills. Unopened products you leave behind will be distributed to our staff, but if it's been opened we would simply throw it away. We'd prefer you do that for us.
3) Sweep up any floor messes you can, particularly food messes before they can get ground into the floor.
4) Return any pieces of furniture you moved to their original places.
5) Pick up bits of paper and trash inside and outside.
6) Wipe kitchen surfaces inside and out with the dishrag provided. We'll sanitize, but we'd rather you not leave grease and food on surfaces because that attracts ants REAL fast.
7) Be sure to look under beds and under sofa cushions. We find the most interesting things there and our lost and found is usually overflowing with stuff we don't need and you probably do.
8) Check the area outside your cabin for any litter or toys that might have been accidentally dropped by you or your children.
We charge $20 per hour for cleaning when the above steps are not performed..
If the room is excessively dirty, so that it cannot be cleaned by 3 p.m. check in, you will also be charged for an additional night.
Mud can sometimes be an issue at the lake so we provide interior and exterior doormats. Please keep in mind that we charge for carpet shampooing and it usually leads to an extra night's charge. It's a bit more economical for you to remove your shoes than to track up our carpet.
The kinds of things we charge for include: stains on carpet, bedspreads, walls, or furniture, excessive amounts of food and garbage not removed from the cabin, excessive litter outside cabins, smoke odors, damaged linens, missing remotes or keys, and furniture moving.
