Friday and Saturday.
Travel writer Melinda Crow brings you her favorite dishes from across the country, served with spectacular views of Lake Whitney. Mel's offers a full salad bar featuring fresh greens, homemade soup, and a serve-yourself cheese block. The bread at Mel's is the highlight of any meal. Fresh baked dinner rolls, beer biscuits, and luscious blueberry muffins. For an entree choose from her selections of Black Angus steaks or chicken or order one of the non-traditional favorites like charbroiled quail or blackened catfish.
Desserts range from warm fruit cobblers, dripping with ice cream, to rich bread pudding smothered in homemade caramel sauce. Or try something different like fried bananas or fried cheesecake.
There are plenty of choices for the kids, and the prices aren't intimidating.
Join us for an all-you-can-eat buffet of catfish, chicken fried steak, grilled pork chops, shrimp, and fried chicken every Friday night for only $9.95 including salad bar.
Located between Whitney and the dam, off highway 22. Turn on CR2105N, then follow the signs to Arrowhead Resort. The restaurant is located inside the main office building facing Lake Whitney.
