Creek Nature Park work study packages
Students can participate in the planning and development of a 20+ acre nature park adjacent to the resort. The land encompassed by the park has been abused, littered, and is overgrown with invasive species. It needs some TLC, some hard work, and the creativity that only children can provide. We'll send photos and maps for your students to preview. Have them dream big with writing and art projects about what the park should eventually look like. Then have them work through everyone's suggestions to formulate a plan for a small step in the right direction that they can contribute as a class. We'll fine tune the plan and coordinate any necessary fund raising for materials required for their project.. We'll walk them through obtaining any government permission required (some of the land is public land), and steer them in the right direction for technical assistance from the USDA, the Forestry Department, and Texas Parks and Wildlife. When the plan is finalized, the students will participate in the actual work. We will provide housing, meals, equipment where needed, and supervision of the work.
When the work is complete, we'll throw an ice cream party, send press releases, and reward everyone with certificates of appreciation from the park.
The cost is only $50 per student per day for an experience that will last a lifetime!
